ChatGPT student discount
Student discount, in 2026, means four free months, not a forever-lower price. After the promotion, Plus is $20 a month.
Discount is the wrong word for a free window
ChatGPT student discount and chat gpt student discount are high-intent searches. OpenAI's published student deal, checked 25 September 2026, is not 50 percent off forever. It is four monthly billing periods of Plus at no charge for eligible U.S. students, then the standard $20. The student page prices that window as an $80 value, which is four times $20.
If a coupon site promises a standing student code, compare it with the help article before you enter a card. The claim path is SheerID on the official student page, described in ChatGPT for students.
Who should not expect this price
The help article limits the offer to current students at eligible U.S. degree-granting colleges and graduate schools. High school is not in that sentence. Outside the U.S., this particular offer does not apply. A free ChatGPT account still exists for everyone.
Faculty, K-12, and education workspace plans are different products. OpenAI's pricing page is where those are described. Do not assume the four free months cover them.
Questions
- Is there a ChatGPT student discount code?
- The 2026 path is enrollment verification, not a promo code published on this site. Use chatgpt.com/students/2026 while signed in.
- Does the discount last all year?
- The free period is four monthly billing periods from the claim date. Then it is $20 a month unless you cancel.
- Can I claim it twice?
- The help article says redeem the offer once. An earlier student promotion does not, by itself, block this one, according to that article. Read the exceptions on the help page if you were in a previous deal.
