How to cancel a ChatGPT subscription depends on who charges the card: ChatGPT on the web, or Apple, or Google. Cancel in that place.

How to cancel ChatGPT subscription is the query. The Plus plan page says you can manage or cancel anytime through your account. That sentence covers plans ChatGPT bills directly. If the charge on your card says Apple or Google, the subscription lives in that store. Canceling inside the website will not stop a store renewal.
On the web, sign in at chatgpt.com, open Settings, then the account or subscription area, and choose cancel. OpenAI's manage URL is chatgpt.com/account/manage. Menus move. If the button is not where a screenshot from last year showed it, use the account menu rather than a blog's crop.
What cancellation does to access and to free months
The student offer help page is specific: if you cancel during the four free months, Plus continues through the end of the current monthly billing period, and the remaining promotional months are forfeited when the cancellation takes effect. You do not get a refund of months you have not started, because those months were not charged. You also do not keep them in reserve.
A canceled Plus plan falls back to Free when the paid period ends. Codex and image limits drop with it. OpenAI billing is the page for invoices and the card on file. This site cannot see your subscription and cannot cancel it for you.

- Will I lose access the minute I click cancel?
- The student help page says access continues through the end of the current monthly billing period. Assume the same pattern for a normal Plus month, and read the confirmation screen, which states the end date.
- Can this website cancel it for me?
- No. We do not have your account. Use the ChatGPT settings of the login that pays the bill.
