OpenAI billing
OpenAI billing covers the card and the invoices for ChatGPT plans and the API. Personal subscribers start in account settings. Workspace owners use the admin billing page.
Two billing doors
OpenAI billing is the search when a charge appeared or an invoice is missing. Individuals on Plus manage the payment method in their ChatGPT account. The public admin URL, chatgpt.com/admin/billing, is the workspace door for Business and similar plans, and it asks you to sign in as someone who can see that workspace.
Plus itself is $20 a month when ChatGPT bills you, from the Plus help article. API usage is a separate meter with its own invoices. A charge labeled OpenAI can be either. Match the amount and the date to the plan before you dispute it.
What to check on a surprise charge
Confirm the login email. A second account, a workspace seat, and a mobile-store subscription can all bill a card you reused. Store subscriptions show Apple or Google on the statement more often than OpenAI. Cancel in the place that bills you, using the cancel steps.
This site never asks for a card number, a password, or an API key. Anyone who does, while claiming to be this manual, is not us. Update the card only on openai.com or chatgpt.com.
