ChatGPT Pulse

Pulse was the proactive briefing. OpenAI's release notes say it is being sunset, and scheduled tasks are the replacement.

Pulse is on the way out

ChatGPT Pulse is the search for the daily briefing that used to appear on its own. OpenAI's release notes say Pulse is being sunset as proactive updates move into scheduled tasks. The note says Pro users keep access for 14 days from the day of that note. Read the release notes for the date stamp rather than a reprinted countdown.

The replacement is a scheduled task: you ask ChatGPT to run a briefing on a rhythm you choose. The scheduled-tasks help page says those tasks are available globally to Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise on the web, mobile, and desktop app.

How to replace a Pulse habit

Open Scheduled in the sidebar. Create a task with a real brief: check these topics, use this length, and notify me in the morning. A task with no sources will still invent a tidy digest. Name the sites or the notes it may use.

Scheduled tasks can use connected apps such as Gmail when your plan and admin allow them. That is a permission you turn on, not a default this guide can flip. Codex goals are a different scheduler for code, covered on the Codex goal page.

Questions

Why is Pulse missing?
OpenAI is shutting it down in favor of scheduled tasks. If you still see it, you are inside the short window the release notes describe for Pro.
Do scheduled tasks need Plus?
The help page lists Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise. Free is not in that list.
Can a task send email by itself?
Only through an app your account has connected, and only if an admin allows it on a workspace. Check the Apps tab before you assume Gmail is available.
