ChatGPT Manual

ChatGPT text generator

The text generator drafts from an outline you provide. Without an outline it invents a topic and a tone you then have to undo.

Generator means draft, not source

ChatGPT text generator is OpenAI's writing tool for producing text from a prompt. It is the same model family as the rest of ChatGPT, aimed at a blank page. Give it an outline of four lines. Ask for one section at a time so you can stop a wrong turn.

Ban invented precision. Prompt: Do not include statistics, citations, or expert quotes unless I wrote them in the outline. If you need a number, write [number from me] and stop.

Length and the second pass

State a word cap. Then run the rewrite only on paragraphs that are vague. Generating the whole piece again usually changes the good lines along with the weak ones.

Labels, alt text, and button names are also text. The same rule applies: you decide the fact, the generator proposes the sentence.

Questions

Is the text generator free?
It is part of ChatGPT. The free plan can generate text until you hit the limit shown in your account. Paid plans raise those limits. This site does not sell generations.
Can I generate a whole blog post in one prompt?
You can, and it will be even and thin. Section by section, from your outline, is easier to correct.
Who owns the text?
Read OpenAI's terms for output rights. You are still responsible for what you publish, including false statements the draft added.
