The name people type, and the product OpenAI ships

ChatPPT is the high-volume search. The page that ranks for it on chatgpt.com is ChatGPT for PowerPoint: a sidebar inside Microsoft PowerPoint that drafts and edits slides while leaving them editable. OpenAI says it is available globally on Free, Go, Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, Edu, Teachers, and K-12, subject to plan limits and admin controls.

Other companies use ChatPPT as a product name for their own slide tools. This manual does not speak for them and does not take payment for them. If a checkout page is not Microsoft's add-in store or OpenAI, read who the seller is before you pay. The OpenAI help article is the feature description to trust for the add-in.

What the sidebar will not finish for you

OpenAI says some advanced PowerPoint behavior is still weak, including complex templates and fonts. Slides can look finished and still misstate a figure you never supplied. Give it the numbers in the prompt, and forbid new statistics.

A workspace admin may have to enable the add-in and any connected apps. If a colleague sees ChatGPT in the ribbon and you do not, the difference is usually the account or the admin switch, not a missing download on this site.

How to do it

1. Install the add-in. In PowerPoint, use Home, then Add-ins, and search for ChatGPT. OpenAI's page also points at Microsoft Marketplace. Sign in with the OpenAI account that should be billed.
2. Ask for a specific deck. Name the audience, the number of slides, and the source notes. 'Make a presentation about marketing' produces filler. A slide-by-slide brief produces something you can edit.
3. Read every number. The help page says ChatGPT can change or delete content if the request is vague. Keep a copy of the original file. Check claims before you present.
