ChatGPT Manual

Municibid

Municibid runs online auctions for government surplus. A ChatGPT app may help you ask questions. The bid is placed on Municibid.

The auction site, not a chatbot

Municibid is an online auction platform used by local governments and public agencies in the United States to sell surplus: vehicles, equipment, and similar lots. You register and bid on municibid.com. This manual is not Municibid and cannot place a bid, hold a deposit, or tell you what a lot is worth.

ChatGPT lists a Municibid app. An app can answer questions in chat if your account has it enabled. It does not replace the auction's terms, the pickup rules, or the photos on the lot page. Read those on Municibid before you bid.

How not to get surprised

Surplus sales are often as-is. A chat summary of a listing can skip a fee, a title brand, or a pickup deadline. Open the lot. If you use ChatGPT to read a screenshot, compare every figure with the live page.

Do not send a Municibid password to a chat, including this site. We do not have a login form.

Questions

Can I bid inside ChatGPT?
Place the bid on Municibid. A ChatGPT app is not the auctioneer and is not this website.
Is Municibid the same as ChatGPT?
No. Municibid is the auction company. ChatGPT is a separate product that happens to list an app with that name.
Where do I see the real price and fees?
On the lot page at municibid.com, including buyer's premiums and removal terms. Do not rely on a paraphrased chat.
